The role requires operating excavators, bulldozers, and compaction equipment, maintaining safe operations near utilities, and performing pre-operational checks.

The ideal candidate has Grade 12, at least 3 years in civil construction with heavy equipment, a valid BC driver's license, knowledge of soil types and site grading, and the ability to plan

Qualifications

• Grade 12 education is required.
• 3+ years in civil construction operating heavy equipment.
• Valid BC driver's license.
• Knowledge of site grading concepts.
• Ability to differentiate soil types.
• Self-motivated with ability to plan ahead.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators to strip material and load haul trucks.
• Operate bulldozers to grade soil in appropriate lift thicknesses.
• Operate vibratory drum compactors per engineer recommendations.
• Operate machinery near utilities.
• Safely operate street sweeper for road cleansing.
• Carry out pre-operational checks and basic lubrication.
• Utilise two-way radios for site communication.
• Occasional physical and non-physical labour on site.
