Job description

Position Scope

NACG is seeking ARTICULATING TRUCK OPERATORS to join our remote mining site team in the Fort McMurray area. This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the safest and largest contracts in the region.

For this role, NACG offers a combined rate of up to $43.90/hour and room for growth!

Where You’ll Be Working
  • Site: Suncor Base Mine
  • Schedule: 14 x 14, 12-hour days (paid for 11.5 hours)
  • Accommodations: Not provided
  • Transportation: Busing from Fort McMurray to site (before and after shifts)
  • Overtime: Paid after 8 hours/day or 44 hours/week

Responsibilities
What You’ll Be Doing
  • Operate articulating haul trucks (40-60 ton) in mining or heavy construction environments, models include Caterpillar, Komatsu, John Deere, Volvo
  • Perform pre-use inspections for safety
  • Conduct risk/hazard assessments before and during tasks
  • Assist in fueling and servicing equipment safely
  • Interact with loading/dumping equipment
  • Follow mine driving rules
  • Coordinate with other equipment and personnel
  • Comply with safety policies, standards, and procedures
  • Use appropriate PPE
  • Review work plans and hazard assessments before starting
  • Report repairs, incidents, near misses, or damages
Qualifications
What Makes You the ONE
  • At least 1 year of experience operating 60-ton articulating haul trucks
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a mining environment
  • Safety-first mindset
  • Attentive with strong listening skills
  • High school diploma, GED, or post-secondary education (asset)
  • Proficient in English (verbal and written)
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
  • CSO Certification
Summary
What's Next

If selected for the next stage, you will need to:

  • Provide a valid Class 5 Driver’s License and recent Driver’s Abstract
  • Hold valid CSO or BSO certification
  • Have Silica and Wood Buffalo Wildlife awareness
  • Be subject to random testing at Suncor, Fort Hills, and Kearl sites
  • Complete pre-employment tests: Breath Alcohol, Urine Drug, Health Assessment, Audiometric, Vision, Criminal Record

Once dispatched, the process includes:

  • Scheduling pre-employment testing with NACG
  • Receiving and completing new hire paperwork
  • Scheduling orientation and confirming start date

Note: Onboarding may take 3-8 business days. Shift, site, and start times are subject to change.
