Qualifications

Job description

Position Scope

NACG is seeking Articulating Truck Operators to join our remote mining site team in the Fort McMurray area. This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the safest and largest contracts in the region.

We offer a combined rate of up to $43.90/hour and room for growth!

Where You’ll Be Working
  • Site: Suncor Base Mine
  • Schedule: 14 x 14, 12-hour days (paid for 11.5 hours)
  • Accommodations: Camp is not provided
  • Transportation: Busing from Fort McMurray to site (before and after shifts)
  • Overtime: After 8 hours in a day or 44 hours in a week

Responsibilities
What You’ll Be Doing
  • Operate articulating frame haul trucks (40-60 ton) in a mining or heavy construction environment (models include Caterpillar, Komatsu, John Deere, Volvo)
  • Perform pre-use equipment inspections
  • Conduct risk/hazard assessments prior to and during tasks
  • Participate in safe fueling and servicing of equipment
  • Interact with loading/dumping equipment
  • Follow mine driving rules
  • Coordinate with other contractor and client equipment
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies, standards, and procedures
  • Use appropriate safety equipment and PPE
  • Review safe work plans and hazard assessments before starting
  • Report repairs, incidents, near misses, or damages
Qualifications
What Makes You the ONE
  • At least 1 year experience operating 60-ton articulating haul trucks
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a mining environment
  • Safety-first attitude
  • Attentive with strong listening skills
  • High school diploma, GED, or post-secondary education (asset)
  • Proficient in English (verbal and written)
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
  • CSO Certification

  • Subject to random testing at Suncor, Suncor Fort Hills, and Kearl sites
  • Pass pre-employment tests: Breath Alcohol, Urine Drug, Health Assessment, Audiometric, Vision, Criminal Record

  • Scheduling pre-employment testing
  • Receiving New Hire paperwork
  • Scheduling orientation and confirming start date
