Qualifications

• 12 years of experience operating heavy equipment in a construction environment.
• CSA‑approved steel-toed boots required.
• Willingness to work extended hours and Saturdays during construction season.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment including excavators, graders, dozers, and skid steers
• Perform excavation, backfilling, rough and fine grading, and material handling
• Load trucks and manage stockpiling of materials
• Conduct daily pre-operational inspections and complete circle checks
• Clean, lubricate, and maintain equipment to ensure safe operation
• Perform minor equipment maintenance and report mechanical issues
• Follow company safety policies, safe ground disturbance procedures, and site safety requirements
• Assist with snow removal operations when required
• Work with foremen and crew members to complete projects safely and efficiently
• Assist with labour tasks when required

As a Heavy Equipment Operator at Peters Excavating, you will operate equipment such as excavators, graders, dozers, and skid steers to support road construction and earthworks projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment including excavators, graders, dozers, and skid steers
• Perform excavation, backfilling, rough and fine grading, and material handling

Qualifications

• Valid Class 5 Drivers License and clean drivers abstract
• Experience operating excavators and other earthmoving equipment
• Mechanical aptitude considered an asset
• Heavy Equipment Operator Trade Certification considered an asset
• Class 3A or 1A license considered an asset
• CSA‑approved steel-toed boots required
• Willingness to work extended hours and Saturdays during construction season
