Interpro Prairie Recycling Inc. is seeking an Equipment Operator to safely operate and maintain heavy equipment for loading, unloading, and handling ferrous materials.

You will work with the scale operator and office staff to ensure smooth yard flow and efficient material movement, upholding a safe and injury-free environment. Responsibilities include operating loaders, cranes, and other yard equipment, performing routine maintenance, and coordinating with scale personnel.

Qualificações

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience operating heavy motorized equipment within the last 3 years.
• Must have a valid Driver's License.

Responsabilidades

• Operate heavy motorsized equipment used in loading/unloading ferrous material, including loaders, cranes, grapple cranes, shears, and other yard support equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and check fluids to ensure equipment is properly maintained.
• Load trucks accurately and safely, communicating with scale personnel for confirmation.
• Unload trucks with ferrous materials and sweep trailers to remove excess material.
• Stockpile and sort metals into designated areas.
• Coordinate tasks with yard and scale personnel using radio devices.
• Maintain logs and records daily, weekly, and monthly as required by supervision.

Job Summary

The Equipment Operator is responsible for safety and efficiently operating and maintaining heavy equipment to load, unload, and handle ferrous materials. In collaboration with the scale operator and office staff, the Equipment Operator helps coordinate the smooth unloading of customer materials and maintain an efficient flow of traffic in and out of the yard to minimize congestion and optimize yard operations. Job Responsibilities

• Operate heavy motorized equipment used in loading/unloading of ferrous material, including, but not limited to, loaders, cranes, grapple cranes, shears, and other equipment used to support the variety of activities essential to the yard operations
• Perform preventative maintenance as required, including checking all fluids to ensure motorized equipment is properly maintained
• Load trucks accurately (proper weights), safely, and efficiently, and communicate via radio to scale personnel for confirmation of material loaded and any issues that may come up
• Unload transport with ferrous materials, safely and efficiently, and clean (sweep) trailers of excess material
• Stockpile/sort metals and place them in the designated areas
• Use hand-held mobile radio devices to coordinate tasks and resources with yard and scale personnel effectively
• Maintain accurate logs and records daily, weekly, and monthly, and/or as required by supervision

Education And Experience

• Completion of High School and/or equivalent
• Must have a minimum of one (1) year of experience operating heavy motorized equipment, within the last three (3) years.
• Must have a valid Driver's License.

Knowledge, Skills And Competencies

• Knowledge of yard operations
• Knowledge and understanding of ferrous metals and classifications
• Customer focus: takes responsibility for developing excellent customer service, making sure that all purchases are handled professionally and expeditiously
• Communication Skills: communicates clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, and/or via mobile radio devices

• Must have reliable transportation as the work site is not accessible by city transit
