Location: 340 Regional Road 20, Hamilton, ON
Pay: $29-$36 per hour (depending on experience)
Union Placement: Potential after a successful probationary period

Job Description:

As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will play a crucial role in our landscape construction operations, operating a variety of heavy machinery, including bulldozers, excavators, skid steers, and mini-excavators. This is a seasonal position running late into the year, with opportunities for winter work assisting our snow crews.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate dozers, excavators, loaders, and other equipment to support landscape construction projects.
• Perform grading, excavation, and material placement according to site plans and specifications.
• Assist in building retaining walls and other hardscape structures using excavators and other machinery.
• Conduct daily pre-operational equipment inspections to ensure safety and functionality.
• Maintain accurate logs of equipment usage and site conditions.
• Follow all safety protocols to maintain a secure work environment.
• Perform manual labour tasks as required when equipment operation is not needed.

Requirements:

• Valid Driver’s License with a good driver’s abstract.
• 1-3 years of experience in a similar role.
• Proficiency in operating bulldozers, and excavators.
• Experience with grading work and building walls would be an asset.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
