Job summary

Burnaby Blacktop Ltd. in Burnaby is seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to join our paving and civil crews. You will safely operate one or more machines and work with foremen to meet production and quality standards.

Requirements include prior experience on listed equipment, a Class 5 license, and the ability to work long hours in demanding conditions. CCRP tickets are assets, and RRSP, medical benefits, and year-round employment are offered.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating one or more of the listed machines.
• Strong safety awareness and communication skills.
• Ability to work long hours in physically demanding conditions.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
• Equipment tickets/certifications (asset)

Responsibilities

• Operate one and/or more of the following: paver, roller, skid steer (bobcat), excavator, and/or milling machine.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance checks.
• Follow grade, slope, and paving specifications as directed.
• Work closely with the paving crew to maintain steady production.
• Ensure safe operation in accordance with company and WorkSafeBC regulations.
• Communicate effectively with ground crew and foreman.
• Assist with general labour tasks when required.
• Maintain a clean and safe work site.

Equipment: Paver, Bobcat/Skid Steer, Roller, Excavator, and/or Milling Machine

Pay: $32–$42 per hour (based on experience)
