We are seeking a skilled and reliable Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy construction equipment, including excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and off-road trucks. This position plays a critical role in ensuring our equipment operates safely and efficiently on job sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, repair and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on heavy construction equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, lubrication, and filter replacements.
  • Repair or replace defective parts including engines, transmissions, brakes, and hydraulic systems.
  • Conduct inspections and preventative maintenance to reduce equipment downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records of all service and repairs.
  • Operate and test repaired equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Adhere to all company safety standards and OSHA regulations.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational training preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electronics, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
