Battlefield Equipment Rentals in Antigonish, NS, is hiring a Heavy Equipment Mechanic for full-time, permanent work. Pay is CAD 23.00–30.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Experience repairing and maintaining heavy equipment, with a focus on diagnostics and repairs.
• Customer-focused service mindset and clear communication with customers.
• Proficient with CAT systems and equipment knowledge.
• Ability to work well in a team and juggle priorities with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrates strong time management and organizational skills.
• Accustomed to physically demanding work and lifting.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to health and safety policies.
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems is a plus.
• Licensed Heavy Equipment Mechanic is preferred.
• Flexibility to support on-call schedules.
• Ability to troubleshoot and estimate repair costs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and estimate repair costs.
• Inspect rental equipment for proper operation and faults.
• Repair/replace defective parts and systems using hand and power tools.
• Test repaired equipment to ensure performance and specs.
• Complete service orders accurately and on time.
• Order parts as needed to complete repairs.
• Prepare service reports and documentation.
• Support branch operations with additional duties as assigned.
• Collaborate across departments to ensure timely repairs and service delivery.
• Maintain a safe and efficient shop environment.
