Job summary

Dumas Contracting Inc. is seeking an Underground Maintenance Mechanic to service and repair our fleet of heavy mining equipment across Timmins Camp.

You will work underground, performing preventive and corrective maintenance to maximize reliability and minimize downtime, while adhering to safety and site-specific regulations. The role requires a Red Seal/Journeyman license and experience with drilling and blasting.

Qualifications

• Valid Red Seal/Journeyman License in a Mechanic trade.
• Ontario Underground Hard Rock Miner Common Core certification.
• Strong knowledge of drilling and blasting techniques.
• Ability to work in physically demanding and confined environments.
• Excellent safety record and commitment to safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair underground mining equipment, including jumbos, MacLean bolters, scoops, utility vehicles, and drills.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and parts used.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and perform root cause analysis for failures.
• Ensure compliance with Dumas and site-specific safety protocols and environmental regulations.
• Participate in workplace inspections and hazard assessments.

About The Role

As a Mobile Maintenance Mechanic at Dumas, you will play a critical role in maintaining and repairing the fleet of heavy mining equipment that keeps our operations running safely and efficiently. You will work underground in a fast-paced setting, ensuring equipment reliability and minimizing downtime to support production goals while working safely and efficiently.
