Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking an experienced Technician to support a wide service area across mine sites and infrastructure projects. The role splits time between shop and field, providing preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a diverse fleet of equipment.

You will work in a dynamic environment with opportunities for career advancement, comprehensive benefits, and ongoing training to grow into leadership roles within the service organization.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; trade school or equivalent training preferred.
• Previous mechanic experience with diesel/heavy equipment or similar lines is strongly preferred.
• Red Seal (Heavy Duty) certification is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and routine servicing on equipment.
• Run advanced diagnostics and execute complex repairs to minimize downtime.
• Diagnose electrical and hydraulic issues and implement effective fixes.
• Operate safely in both shop and field environments, including remote job sites.

Split between the shop and the field, you'll support customers across an expansive 70,000 sq. km service area that includes some of the region's largest mine sites, infrastructure projects, and industrial operations. With major projects happening close to home, you'll be a critical part of providing the high-quality service and technical expertise our customers depend on, whether in the shop or at remote job sites.This mechanic/technician role performs preventive maintenance, perform advanced diagnostics, and makes complex repairs on equipment in the safest, most effective way possible to avoid downtime. Our fleet varies by location but primarily includes Aerial Work Platforms, general construction tools and equipment. Our specialty lines locations may have a fleet of large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems and oil/gas-related equipment.
