Job summary

Jardeg is recruiting for a Heavy Duty Mechanic Apprentice to join the Saskatoon Shop and Yard, working day shift on a 5 days on, 2 days off schedule.

Local candidates to Saskatoon area preferred; no LOA or travel offered. You will maintain, repair and overhaul heavy vehicles and industrial equipment, with 8-10 hour days.

Qualifications

• Registered Apprentice (2nd Year to 4th year) in Heavy Duty Mechanic trade.
• Experience servicing, maintaining, and repairing heavy-duty vehicles and trucks.
• WHMIS 2015 certification.
• Local to Saskatoon area.
• Day shift with 5 days on, 2 days off; 8–10 hour days.
• No LOA or travel offered.
• ZoomBoom considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on maintenance and repairs of equipment including loaders, excavators, skid steers, and lifting equipment.
• Large scale overhauls and rebuilds.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic faults.
• Preventive maintenance and services.
• Complete work according to manufacturer specifications.
• Work closely with customers’ maintenance and operations personnel.
• Interpret work orders and technical manuals.
• Keep equipment cleaned, lubricated and maintained.
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions.
• Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems.
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance and compliance with specs and regulations.
