JARDEG CONSTRUCTION SERVICES LTD. in Saskatoon, SK is seeking a Heavy Duty Mechanic Apprentice for our Saskatoon Shop and Yard. The role features a day shift, 5 days on, 2 days off, with 8–10 hour days.

Local candidates only; no LOA or travel provided. The apprentice will maintain, repair and overhaul heavy vehicles and industrial equipment, performing diagnostics, preventive maintenance, component replacement, and working closely with customers’ maintenance teams to meet manufacturers' specs

Qualifications

• Registered Apprentice 2nd–4th year in Heavy Duty Mechanic trade.
• Experience servicing, maintaining and repairing heavy-duty vehicles and trucks.
• WHMIS 2015 certification.

Responsibilities

• Hands on maintenance and repairs of all equipment sizes including loaders, excavators, skid steers, lifting equipment.
• Perform large scale overhauls and rebuilds.
• Replace components as needed.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical and hydraulic faults.
• Perform preventive maintenance and services.
• Complete work according to manufacturers’ specifications.
• Work closely with customers’ maintenance and operations personnel.
• Interpret work orders and technical manuals.
• Keep equipment clean, lubricated and maintained.
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions and repair or replace parts.
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure compliance with specs and regulations.
• Complete service reports.

The Heavy Duty Mechanic Apprentice maintains, repairs and overhauls heavy vehicles and industrial equipment. Heavy lifting is required.

Minimum Requirements:

• Registered Apprentice (2nd Year to 4th year) in Heavy Duty Mechanic trade
• Experience in servicing, maintaining, and repairing heavy-duty vehicles and trucks.
• WHMIS 2015
