Job description

Park Paving - Heavy Duty Technician

Park Paving has been locally owned and operated for 50 years. As one of the largest road construction contractors servicing Edmonton and the surrounding area, we are seeking an experienced Journeyman/Woman Heavy Duty Technician to join our Maintenance Division based in Sherwood Park, AB. Applicants must possess a Heavy Duty Mechanic License to qualify.

We will consider on-road and off-road mechanics or apprentices with equipment and truck experience.

This is a full-time, permanent position offering competitive wages and benefits.

The role primarily involves fieldwork, performing a variety of duties related to heavy-duty equipment servicing and repairs on our fleet in Edmonton and nearby areas.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate with supervisors, administration, and workers to complete work orders efficiently.
2. Work independently with limited supervision, providing guidance to others as needed.
3. Complete required paperwork, including work orders, hazard assessments, daily time sheets, and repair lists.
4. Test, troubleshoot, diagnose, adjust, and replace parts and equipment/controls as necessary.
5. Perform scheduled and preventative maintenance on all equipment and assets.
6. Service heavy-duty equipment in the field independently.
7. Complete CVIP inspections (preferred but not mandatory).
8. Identify repairs needed during inspections and discuss with your supervisor for approval.
9. Submit work orders upon job completion.
10. Maintain clean and organized work areas, benches, and toolboxes.

Successful candidates will be licensed or apprentice Heavy Duty Technicians with a valid driver’s license and strong operational knowledge of various heavy-duty equipment, enabling effective diagnosis and repair in collaboration with supervisors and team members, fostering a positive work environment.
