Job summary

Park Paving Ltd. in Sherwood Park, AB, is seeking a Journeyman/Woman Heavy Duty Field Technician to service and repair our heavy equipment. This full-time role will involve in-shop and field work, with a focus on reliability and safety.

You will diagnose, test, and replace components, perform preventive maintenance, and complete required paperwork while coordinating with supervisors and crews. A valid CVIP license or Journeyman status is preferred.

Qualifications

• CVIP license preferred but not mandatory
• Journeyman Mechanic or Trade Certificate preferred
• Experience with heavy-duty equipment service and repair

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with supervisors and crew to complete work orders efficiently.
• Lead and assist others while working under limited supervision.
• Complete paperwork including work orders, hazard assessments, and time sheets.
• Test, diagnose, adjust, and replace parts and equipment as needed.
• Perform scheduled and preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Work solo in the field servicing heavy-duty equipment.
• CVIP inspections: preferred but not mandatory.
• Compile repairs list and obtain authorization from supervisor.
• Submit completed work orders.
• Keep work areas and tools organized.

Job description

Park Paving is a locally owned and operated company and has been in business for over 50 years as one the largest road construction contractors in Edmonton. We are looking for a steady JOURNEYMAN/WOMAN HEAVY DUTY FIELD TECHNICIAN who can be responsible for a variety of duties related to heavy duty equipment service and repair.

This position will be primarily based out of our Maintenance Shop location in Sherwood Park, AB.

This is a full-time permanent position with competitive wages and benefits.

The successful candidate's primary duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Coordinating with supervisors, administration, and workers, for the purpose of completing all work orders efficiently and effectively
• Work under limited supervision, leading, guiding and working with others, as required
• Fill out required paperwork. This would include forms such as work orders, hazard assessment sheets, daily time sheets, repair list
• Test, troubleshoot, diagnose, adjust, and replace, parts and equipment/controls as required
• Perform scheduled and preventative maintenance of all equipment or assets
• Working alone in the field servicing heavy duty equipment
• Complete CVIP inspections preferred but not mandatory
• Compile a list of repairs needed during your inspection and go over with your direct report for repair authorization
• Fill out and hand in work orders upon job completion
• Keep your work areas, benches, and toolboxes clean and organized

Successful candidates will be licensed or apprentice Heavy Duty Technicians with a valid driver license and have a strong operating knowledge of a wide range of heavy-duty equipment that will allow them to effectively diagnose and repair any potential problem in conjunction with their direct supervisors, and other employees while maintaining a positive and respectful work environment.
