Job summary

Kibbi is seeking a skilled Diesel Engine Repair Technician to service and repair heavy equipment at various locations across Canada. You will diagnose faults, maintain inventory, and train apprentices while ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications.

The role requires experience with diesel systems, emission controls, and powertrains, plus the ability to travel to sites and work outdoors in dusty, noisy environments. A Class 1 or A license is needed; relocation support may be provided.

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of relevant field experience
  • No degree, certificate or diploma required
  • Valid Driver's License (Class 1 or A)

Responsibilities

  • Instruct apprentices
  • Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment
  • Order parts and maintain inventory
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts
  • Keep maintenance reports and documentation
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications
  • Attach components and adjust new farm equipment
  • Service attachments and working tools
  • Perform repair work on heavy trucks
  • Verify and repair emission control systems
  • Assist process and machine operators in mineral ore and metal processing
  • Perform other routine maintenance
