Job summary

GFL is seeking a 310T-certified Mechanic to inspect, maintain, repair, and rebuild heavy‑duty diesel trucks and related equipment at our Vaughan, Canada shops. You will diagnose issues, perform preventive maintenance, and complete work orders using fleet software, with safety as a priority.

Applicants should have at least 1 year of diesel mechanic experience and be proficient with diagnostic software; a willingness to learn new systems is essential.

Qualifications

• Licensing: Valid 310T Truck & Coach Technician license.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience as a diesel mechanic.
• Technical Proficiency: Experience using diagnostic software is a strong asset, with good computer literacy and willingness to learn new systems.
• Safety Commitment: Ability to meet safety-sensitive position standards.

Responsibilities

• Diagnostics & Repair: Diagnose and repair heavy-duty diesel trucks and equipment (diesel, CNG, gasoline, and electric-powered units).
• Preventive Maintenance: Perform thorough maintenance to ensure fleet reliability.
• Administrative Tasks: Complete work orders, repair reports, and parts requests using fleet maintenance software.
• Planning & Coordination: Plan repairs using the M5 planner and procure parts; coordinate with operations.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with regulations.
• Tool & Shop Maintenance: Maintain tools and keep work areas clean and safe.
• Operational Support: Follow company policies and perform other duties as needed.
