COMPASS GROUP CANADA is seeking a Heavy Duty Cleaner to perform comprehensive cleaning across hard floor surfaces and elevated areas. Responsibilities include mopping, stripping, garbage removal, and operating cleaning equipment to maintain sanitary facilities.

You will also handle ladder-accessible areas, washrooms, and high-touch surfaces while following H&S regulations. A strong attention to detail and ability to work independently are essential to succeed in this role.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Clean heavy duty areas including hard floor surfaces and surfaces reachable by ladder or scaffolding.
  • Collect and remove garbage from drop points to bins or a compactor; operate the compactor and maintain it.
  • Transport maintenance machinery between floors and job sites as needed.
  • Clean glass areas requiring ladders or extension equipment.
  • Wash and finish washrooms; clean stairs, elevator cabs; wash walls and ceilings.

Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. How You Will Make An Impact

You will be responsible for heavy cleaning work including the cleaning of all hard floor surfaces, the cleaning of all surfaces that must be reached by ladder or scaffolding and the collection and removal of garbage from drop points to a garbage bin or compactor.

As a Heavy Duty Cleaner, You Will
  • Dry mop, wet mop (wash/scrub) and polish hard surface floors. The washing/scrubbing of floors is done with handheld or walk-behind buffing machines.
  • Strip and finish hard surface floors manually or with power equipment when required
  • Transport garbage from drop points to garbage bins or compactor; operate the compactor and be responsible for cleaning the compactor on regular basis
  • Transport maintenance machinery, where necessary, between floors and job sites
  • Clean glass areas requiring ladders, scaffolding or other extension equipment to reach
  • Clean washroom floors including washing, stripping, and finishing
  • Clean stairwells and elevator cabs where ladders are required
  • Wash walls, ceilings and dust ceiling light fixtures and ceiling fans
  • Use pile lifting equipment to restore certain types of carpet
  • Shampoo broadloom and uses extracting equipment to clean broadloom
  • Comply with H&S regulations and company policies
  • Complete tasks assigned to you by your supervisor
  • Restock single unit dispensers containing soap, towels, toilet tissue and sanitary napkins
  • Keep entrances and walkways clear of snow through manual shoveling or the use of a snow blower when required, to maintain safe access during the winter season.
