General Description: A janitor is responsible for cleaning all hard floor surfaces, carpets, washrooms, common areas, offices, and collecting/removing garbage from drop points to a garbage bin. Other responsibilities may be included.

On-call with flexible scheduling

Job Duties:

• Sweep, mop, and wash floors, stairs, and other surfaces inside buildings.
• Strip and wax floors, steam clean carpets, and clean windows upon request.
• Wash windowsills; glass in interior doors, partitions, and specified windows.
• Clean glass and trim at entrance doors, interior/exterior. Wash/spot clean interior walls daily.
• Clean bathrooms and restock supplies daily. Procedures include damp wiping glass surfaces, emptying waste baskets, servicing soap and toilet paper dispensers, dusting sills, cleaning tile walls, shelves, stall partitions, and floor surfaces.
• Assist the supervisor with additional tasks as needed.
• Monitor for defects like clogged urinals and burnt-out lights, reporting issues to supervisors.
• There are showers; employees will need to move between two buildings located across the street from each other.
• Collect building trash daily, placing it in approved containers and designated collection areas for removal.
• Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers as per specifications.
• Perform high dusting and wall washing.
• Operate compactors, lift up to 50 lbs, use heavy-duty machines, and change garbage as needed.

Requirements:

• Ability to follow directions, work with minimal supervision, and cooperate as part of a team.
• Ability to operate cleaning tools and equipment.
• Own transportation is required.
• Attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, organization skills, and high energy and endurance levels are essential.
