Zusammenfassung

GDI Services Canada LP is seeking a full-time janitor in Ontario to maintain clean floors, carpets, washrooms, and common areas. Responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, stripping and waxing, window washing on request, and waste management across two buildings.

Must pass a criminal background check and have reliable transportation. Ideal candidates will have experience with stripping/waxing and carpet extraction, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently within a team.

Qualifikationen

• Experience with stripping and waxing, steam cleaning carpets, and window washing is a plus.
• Ability to follow directions with minimal supervision and work well in a team.
• Must be able to pass a Criminal Background Check.

Aufgaben

• Sweep, mop, and wash floors and surfaces inside buildings.
• Replace liners and manage waste and recycling daily.
• Clean bathrooms and restock supplies; monitor fixtures and high-dust areas.
• Assist supervisor and report any defects (urinals, lights).
• Occasionally move between buildings for showers and access.

General Description

A janitor is generally responsible for the cleaning of all hard floor surfaces and carpets, washrooms, common areas, offices, and the collection and removal of garbage from drop points to a garbage bin. Other responsibilities could be included.

Schedule Hours

Full Time Monday to Friday

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and wash floors, stairs and other surfaces (inside buildings).
• Stripping and waxing, steam cleaning carpets and cleaning windows - on request only
• Wash windowsills; glass in interior doors, partition, and specified windows.
• Wash glass and trim at entrance doors, interior/exterior- Wash/spot clean interior walls as appropriate daily.
• Clean bathrooms and restock paper supplies daily. Standard bathroom procedures are to damp wipe glass surfaces, empty waste baskets, service soap and toilet paper dispensers, dust sills, clean tile walls, shelves, stall partitions, sweep/mop/scrub floors, etc.
• Assist the supervisor with any other assistance that requires help from the employee.
• Monitors possible defects such as clogged urinals and lights out, and reports to supervisors.

There will be showers, they will have to go between the two buildings (they are across the street from each other).

• Collect building trash daily placing it in approved container and place in designated collection area for subsequent removal.
• Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers per specs.
• High dusting, wall washing compactors, lifting up to 50lbs,using heavy duty machines, changing garbage.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be able to take direction, to work with minimal supervision, and to function cooperatively as part of a team
• Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment.
• Must have own transportation
• Requires attention to detail, a pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.
• Must have stripping and waxing experience
• Must have carpet cleaning experience (e.g. extraction)
