General Description: A janitor is generally responsible for the cleaning of all hard floor surfaces and carpets, washrooms, common areas, offices, and the collection and removal of garbage from drop points to a garbage bin. Other responsibilities could be included.

Schedule: Part Time, Evenings

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and wash floors, stairs and other surfaces (inside buildings).
• Wash windowsills; glass in interior doors, partition, and specified windows.
• Wash glass and trim at entrance doors, interior/exterior; wash/spot clean interior walls as appropriate daily.
• Clean bathrooms and restock paper supplies daily. Standard bathroom procedures include damp wiping glass surfaces, empty waste baskets, servicing soap and toilet paper dispensers, dusting sills, cleaning tile walls, shelves, stall partitions, and sweeping/mopping/scubbing floors as needed.
• Assist the supervisor with any other tasks as required.
• Monitor possible defects such as clogged urinals and lights out, and report to supervisors.
• Collect building trash daily, placing it in the approved container and in the designated collection area for removal.
• Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers per specs.
• High dusting, wall washing.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be able to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively as part of a team.
• Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment.
• Must have own transportation.
• Requires attention to detail, a pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.
