Job summary

SITE Resource Group Limited Partnership (SRG) is seeking a 2nd or 3rd Year Apprentice Heavy Duty Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will work with on-highway heavy-duty trucks, build hands-on experience, and advance in the trade through mentoring and on-the-job training.

Candidate should have solid mechanical foundations, be safety-minded, and capable of diagnostic work, electrical troubleshooting, and basic welding/fabrication tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be registered as a 2nd or 3rd Year Heavy Duty Technician Apprentice.
• Hands-on experience with on-highway heavy-duty trucks is required.
• Experience with CVIP repairs is a strong asset.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Good mechanical knowledge of heavy-duty vehicle systems.
• Basic electrical troubleshooting ability.
• Must have a full set of small hand tools for the trade.
• Willingness to learn and grow within the trade.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Assist with inspection, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of on-highway heavy-duty trucks and equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and general mechanical repairs under supervision.
• Assist with CVIP inspections and ensure safety/regulatory compliance.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
• Help repair engines, transmissions, drivetrains, suspension, steering, braking and other systems.
• Perform basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs.
• Assist with welding and fabrication as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow procedures.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
