Job summary

Lambton Kent District School Board is seeking a qualified Heating/Cooling Repair Technician to maintain and service boilers and HVAC equipment across our school and administrative sites. The role requires travel district-wide and precise adherence to safety standards.

Immediate start, permanent full-time position with a 40-hour workweek and a benefits package. Based at the Sarnia Maintenance Building with salary in the Level 7 range.

Qualifications

• HVACR mechanic certification is required.
• 313 Certification is required.
• Gas Fitter 1 certification is required.
• Ozone Depletion Prevention Certificate is required.
• Experience with boilers and varied heating/cooling systems.
• Travel across the district with a valid Ontario G license.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Computer literacy for control systems and the maintenance management system.
• Team-oriented with minimal supervision.
• Must provide own hand tools.

Title: Heating/Cooling Repair Technician

Start Date: Immediate

Posting Overview

Reporting to the Supervisor of Maintenance, this position is responsible for a wide variety of tasks relevant to the maintenance of the Board’s heating and cooling mechanical equipment at various school and administrative facilities.

Qualifications/Experience

• Must be certified as a Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Cooling Mechanic;
• 313 Certification is required;
• Must possess Gas Fitter 1 certification;
• Ozone Depletion Prevention Certificate;
• Extensive experience with building maintenance and hot water boilers and in various types of heating and cooling systems;
• Current working experience in the trade;
• Knowledge of BAS is an asset;
• Must possess a valid Class - G Ontario Driver’s license as travel is required throughout the district;
• Ability to read and work from blueprints and schematic;
• Computer literacy in use of control systems and the Board computer maintenance management work order system;
• Ability to work in a team environment with minimum supervision;
• Proactive to ensure job knowledge is current, based on relevant codes, health and safety acts and regulations;
• Required to provide own hand tools (Board supplies specialized equipment and tools, and service vehicle).

Position Specifications

Permanent, 12 month, 40 hours/week, 8 hours/day, 6:45 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
This position will be based out of the Sarnia Maintenance Building. Travel throughout the district will be required.

Compensation:
Level 7 - $37.76/hour - $39.92/hour
