Day in the life of :

As a self-regulatory organization, the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO) takes its responsibility of setting high-quality regulatory and investment industry standards seriously, while protecting investors and supporting healthy capital markets in Canada.

Position Title : Hearings Assistant

Department : Location :

Toronto

Status :

Permanent Full-Time (Hybrid)

Core Responsibilities :

  • Provide administrative support to the Hearings Office in administering and coordinating hearings (in-person, electronic, or hybrid), including logistics for hearings across Canada.
  • Assist with preparation and circulation of correspondence, updates, and reports.
  • Assist with preparation and review of hearing-related documents, including formatting, publication, and redactions of hearing records as needed.
  • Process and maintain hearing records, including tracking expenses.
  • Support Ontario Regional Council meetings and prepare minutes.
  • Assist with uploading and maintaining electronic records for Board and Committee meetings, and coordinate corporate filings.
  • Provide backup support for other GCO functions as needed.

Education / Experience :

  • Relevant post-secondary degree or experience in administrative tribunals or courts.
  • Experience as an administrative assistant.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Webex, MS Teams, e-hearing solutions (e.g., Case Center), and board books (e.g., Diligent Boards).
