Holbrooklife is seeking a Healthy Living Coach Assistant in Woodstock, Newfoundland and Labrador. Job description

Position Overview

The Healthy Living Coach Assistant (HLCA) position will work closely with the Healthy Living Director (HLD), assisting members on all types of exercise programs. The HLCA plays an important role in the development and supervision of the WellFIT program, specifically group fitness and personal training. The HLCA will assist in daily operations of WellFIT and aid in marketing and promotion of the program. Each HLCA helps uphold a 5‑star member experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with special event programming, implementation, and evaluation of programs.
  • Maintain cleaning schedule and equipment upkeep for all multipurpose spaces.
  • Replenish supplies, replace towels, and provide equipment as needed.
  • Navigate Microfit and Booker by Mind Body Software.
  • Monitor group fitness pass sales, registration, and class attendance via Mind Body.
  • Coordinate participant evaluations/surveys for group fitness classes.
  • Assist with scheduling communications/conflicts among outside fitness instructors.
  • Maintain inventory of usable items (batteries, cleaning solutions, music, promo items, etc.).
  • Assist in leading in‑services/trainings to Holbrook residents.
  • Monitor personal training sales and registration.
  • Assist in communication regarding personal training sessions / new client assignments.
  • Create custom exercise programs for a variety of demographics.
  • Perform WellFIT assessments as directed by the HLD.
  • Conduct monthly weigh‑ins.
  • Write for the resident newsletter and KIOSK.
  • Assist instruction of small group classes, personal training, and marketing activities.
  • Develop health‑education resources for customers.
  • Complete reservations, check‑in, and check‑out procedures accurately with service excellence.
  • Provide front‑desk coverage, including scheduling spa treatments, salon, wellness, and fitness services at guest request via Booker.
  • Report and document safety hazards, conditions or unsafe practices to management immediately.
  • Work well in fast‑paced environment, maintaining composure under pressure.
  • Demonstrate exceptional follow‑up abilities and ownership of tasks.
  • Follow‑up with the CHL Director on guest, member, and associate feedback.
  • Address complaints and resolve guest problems in absence of CHL Directors.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Minimum 21 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least a rising college senior with study in exercise science, kinesiology, or related science.
  • Actively pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university or graduated within the last 12 months.
  • Completed all core exercise science courses if a student.
  • Current group fitness and/or personal trainer certification through a nationally recognized organization (AFAA, ACE, ACSM, NASM, etc.).
  • Experience teaching group fitness classes and/or personal training.
  • CPR/First Aid certification with preferably AED.
  • Availability to work holidays, weekends, mornings, and evenings as needed for at least 20 hours per week.
  • Excellent customer service and hospitality skills.
  • Reliable and time conscientious.
  • Teachable and eager to learn and expand current skill set.
  • Practice self‑care and models a healthy lifestyle.
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Proficient in Windows software, social media, and copy, fax, and telephone equipment.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Operates with integrity, patience, tact, enthusiasm, and positive attitude toward guests.
