Job summary

Convergint is seeking a full-time Healthcare Technician in Ottawa, ON to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair nurse call and RTLS systems, supporting critical healthcare operations. You will work with a team to diagnose networked electronic systems, perform preventive maintenance, and communicate clearly with customers and internal teams while participating in on-call rotations.

The role requires 3–5 years of experience, a diploma or degree in electrical engineering or related field, and

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Willingness to participate in on-call rotations for emergencies.
  • Technical certifications or related field experience are assets.

Responsibilities

  • Install, service, and inspect nurse call and RTLS systems.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with networked electronic systems, software, and front-end workstations/servers.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, emergency service calls, and repairs in a timely and professional manner.
  • Review and interpret as-built drawings and documentation to correct deficiencies and restore systems with minimal supervision.
  • Validate, test, and commission nurse call and RTLS systems onsite to ensure proper functionality.
  • Maintain clear and professional communication with customers, contractors, and internal teams regarding project updates, service status, and customer requests.
  • Collaborate effectively with managers, engineers, technicians, and consulting partners to deliver high-quality solutions.

Convergint is looking for a full-time, team-oriented, results-driven Healthcare Technician, to join our amazing culture in our Ottawa, ON location. As a Healthcare Technician you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing nurse call and RTLS (Real-Time Location Systems). You’ll play an important part in ensuring that these critical systems run smoothly, supporting healthcare operations.

What you’ll do with "Our Training and Your Experience"

Requirements

  • Diploma, or Degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar program.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret level security clearance
  • Valid drivers license
