Job summary

Alberta Health Services is seeking an Environmental Services staff to perform cleaning and disinfecting of clinical and non-clinical healthcare environments within a hospital or facility. Typical duties include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, restocking bathroom supplies, stripping linen and making beds, and operating industrial cleaning equipment for floor maintenance.

You may identify hazards to your Working Leader and may train or orient Environmental or Laundry staff.

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Physical capacity to lift up to 25 lbs and push/pull up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop and vacuum in clinical and non-clinical areas.
• Restock bathroom supplies and linen; make beds.
• Operate industrial cleaning equipment for floor maintenance.
• Identify hazards and report to supervisor; participate in training.
