Your work environment at EXP

EXP, a global engineering and architecture firm, is seeking a Healthcare Architect to join our dynamic team in the Fredericton, NB office. We are looking for a results-oriented, energetic and creative team member with a positive attitude.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

1. Develop functional and space programs for renovations and new construction for all types of healthcare facilities.
2. Generate overall architectural design concepts and narratives.
3. Manage contractual and financial responsibilities of projects.
4. Manage document-specific timelines to ensure on-time deliverables.
5. Build long-term relationships with clients.
6. Inspire creativity and design excellence.
7. Present designs to clients and stakeholders.
8. Evaluate and select building systems and materials.
9. Coordinate building systems to ensure compatibility with design intent.
10. Ensure that design intent is maintained through documentation and construction.
11. Manage teams to meet project scope, schedule, and budgets.
12. Coordinate work within the office team during CD production phase, and between the Architectural team and all other disciplines, participate in development and monitor their completion.
13. Communicate with consultants, sub-consultants, and other representatives to ensure project details are carried out and specified correctly.
14. Manage client relationships.
15. Mentor and coordinate architectural design staff.

What your experience looks like

1. Degree in Architecture, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in various healthcare planning, design, and construction projects.
2. Registered with or eligible to be registered with NSAA.
3. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
4. Design experience for:
1. Programming/pre-design.
2. Building Code.
3. Schematic Design.
4. Design Development.
5. Construction documents development with a technical team.
6. Construction observation & Construction Administration.
5. Design experience on LEED and Green Globes projects would be considered an asset.
6. Software capabilities: AutoCAD, Revit, etc. would be considered an asset.
7. Ability for mentoring staff.
8. Interest in business development and client relationships is considered a strong asset.
9. Ability to lead one or more teams on projects through the development of design concepts.
10. Ability to present innovative ideas to clients and project stakeholders.
11. General knowledge of building construction systems, constructability, materials, and industry-associated standards.
