Job summary

Humber River Health is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to join the Finance team. The role processes payments to vendors, physicians, staff and other entities to meet Humber River Health’s financial obligations.

The successful candidate will have a degree in accounting or business admin, at least 5 years in AP, strong Meditech knowledge, and proficient MS Excel skills. It is a full-time position with day/evening shifts and LiUNA payroll grouping.

Qualifications

• Degree in a recognized Accounting program or Business Administration.
• Working knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping.
• Good knowledge of Meditech with focus on AP system.
• 5+ years of experience in accounts payable, vendor relations, and bookkeeping.

Responsibilities

• Perform all accounting functions related to Accounts payable on a timely basis.
• Open, sort and distribute Accounts Payable mail to the appropriate staff member.
• Enter all invoices with a purchase order into the system on a timely basis and matches to appropriate purchase order.
• Check the accuracy of invoices including extensions and taxes.
• Ensure timely resolution of any discrepancies in processing and matching purchase orders, receiving documents and invoices.
• Process EFT/Cheque payment runs for mid month and month end according to hospital policy.
• Maintain cheque security at all times.
• Manage invoices and payments for assigned vendors.
• Maintain effective relationships with peers and other hospital staff; respond to queries timely.
• Cover other Finance clerk tasks as per operational requirements.
• Work with team to meet deadlines and communicate with stakeholders.
