Worksite Safety in Waterloo/Cambridge, Ontario is seeking a Health & Safety Instructor for a part-time weekend schedule (8 AM–4 PM) delivering Working at Heights courses. This role involves engaging training for job seekers and construction workers in a supportive team environment.

Requirements include 3+ years of training delivery experience (MEWP an asset), construction safety background, forklift/MEWP experience, Ontario driver’s license, and the ability to work independently or with a team.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience delivering training (Working at Heights preferred).
  • Background in construction management or fall hazard-related industry.
  • Forklift and MEWP experience considered an asset.
  • Occupational health & safety background preferred.
  • Strong presentation and adult-engagement skills.
  • Driver's license and ability to travel in Ontario.
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada.

  • Evaluating participants through practical skills and written evaluation.

Job description

Position: Health & Safety Instructor

Employment: Part-time Weekends (8 - 16 Hours/Week)

Location: Waterloo/Cambridge, ON

Salary: $31.00 - 36.00 per hour

Worksite Safety is looking to grow our current team of instructors, specifically for the delivery of our CPO-approved Working at Heights program. There is also an opportunity for this instructor to train others on mobile elevated work platforms. This part-time hourly-based position is currently open and will deliver classes at our Training Centres in Waterloo and Cambridge, Ontario and working hours will be 8am-4pm weekends, and occasional weekdays if availability permits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Delivering engaging and informative Working at Heights training to job seekers, the general public and new and current members of the construction industry
  • Evaluating participants through practical skills and written evaluation
  • Potentially delivering other courses such as Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) Training, Confined Space Entry and Rescue and more.
  • Organizing, filing and submitting digital and hard copy participant records following training
  • Participating in team meetings and instructor development workshops
Qualifications and Experience
  • 3+ years experience delivering training (Working at Heights preferred, MEWP considered an asset)
  • Background in construction management and/or other fall hazard-related industry
  • Forklift, mobile elevated work platforms and any other mobile equipment experience considered an asset
  • Work experience or certification in occupational health & safety preferred
  • Strong interest educating people on the importance and value of health & safety training
  • Self-starter who is able to work independently, while also contributing to a team
  • Strong presentation and adult-engagement skills
  • Valid Ontario's Driver Licence - occasional travel by car for work
  • Able to legally work in Canada
