Kinross Gold is seeking a Health and Safety Manager for the Great Bear project in Red Lake, Ontario. You will be responsible for developing safety initiatives, conducting audits, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations in a mining environment. This role requires strong leadership skills and a solid understanding of mining safety standards.
The Great Bear project is a development-stage asset located in the renowned and prolific Red Lake mining district, and represents one of the most exciting recent gold discoveries globally. The project has excellent potential to become a top-tier deposit that could support a large, long-life mine complex. Kinross’ comprehensive exploration and development program will aim to support the vision of a quality, high-grade, open-pit mine and a longer-term, sizeable underground mine.
Job SummaryYou will be directly responsible to work with all health and safety team members, project team employees and all business partners to develop, maintain, audit, coach and mentor an integrated health and safety management system and all associated procedures, standards and tools that promotes a strong risk sensitive safety culture across all areas at Kinross – Great Bear site.
Key Responsibilities and DutiesThis position is an 8X6 schedule, and is based in Red Lake, Ontario.
