Job Overview:

As a Health & Safety Business Partner, reporting to the Director, Health & Safety, you will work with leaders and their teams directly to define and implement health and safety initiatives aligned with business plans. This role focuses on Strategy (building sustainable safety cultures), Leadership Development (enhancing front-line leaders and safety committees), and Regulatory Compliance (managing compliance processes and collaborating with authorities).

Responsibilities:

• Analyze injury data, identify risks, and develop site-specific action plans.
• Promote health and safety priorities and foster a safety-first mindset.
• Conduct safety assessments and review corrective action plans.
• Support compliance initiatives and work with facility management.
• Improve front-line leaders' safety proficiency and ensure policy alignment.
• Coach and train leaders and safety committees on hazard recognition and control.
• Provide training sessions, including powered lift truck certification.
• Assist with regulatory activities to ensure compliance and favorable outcomes.

Proven Abilities:

• Practical approach and commitment to excellence.
• Strong relationship-building skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication and adaptive decision-making.
• Knowledge of industry trends and safety practices.

Professional Competencies:

• 5-7 years’ experience in occupational health and safety management.
• Certifications like CRSP or CHSC preferred.
• Experience in retail or supply chain environments is an asset.
• Knowledge of safety legislation and ergonomics is beneficial.
• Strong organizational, communication, and travel readiness skills.
