Job summary

EllisDon is seeking a Health, Safety & Environmental Coordinator to lead site safety programs on our Alberta projects. You will implement orientation, inspections, and incident reporting, working with on-site teams to sustain a proactive safety culture.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in safety for ICI buildings, with preference for Advanced Care Paramedic status and OH&S certification. You will influence others to follow rules and drive continuous improvement across the project.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of safety construction experience in ICI buildings.
• Preference for Advanced Care Paramedic status.
• Ability to delegate and influence others to follow safety rules and regulations.
• Currently pursuing or certified under OH&S Act/Regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform site safety orientation, inspections, and incident reporting.
• Monitor on-site workers and subcontractors for compliance.
• Identify hazards and implement corrective measures.
• Organize WHMIS, Fall Protection, PPE, CPR/First Aid training.
• Maintain a safety-first culture across the site.
• Review subcontractors' safety submissions.
• Compile weekly to yearly health and safety statistics.

You As a Health, Safety & Environmental Coordinator Will

• Be responsible for site specific safety orientation, job site inspections and accident/incident reports
• Monitor employees and subcontractors on site to ensure compliance with safety procedures and elevate issues to resolution
• Proactively identify and prevent hazardous situations and take necessary measures to correct them
• Organize and conduct training programs including but not limited to: WHMIS, Fall Protection, Personal Protection Equipment, CPR/First Aid
• Create, maintain, and educate all site staff on maintaining a safety first culture
• Review subcontractors’ pre‑construction safety submittals
• Review and file subcontractors’ weekly safety submittals
• Effectively compile weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly project health and safety statistics

Is this the right role for you?

• You are working towards, or are already certified under the Occupational Health & Safety Act/Regulations with experience working on a construction site
