Job summary

Ramudden Global North America is seeking a Health & Safety Advisor, Night, to provide guidance and support to ensure compliance with legislation and best practices while helping to build a strong safety culture. The Health and Safety Advisor works closely with management, employees, and external stakeholders to identify hazards, reduce risks, and promote safe work practices across all operations.

Based out of Stouffville, the role is nightshift and field-based with regular travel to project

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety or related field.
• Strong knowledge of OHSA and applicable regulations.
• Experience in incident investigations and corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site inspections and audits during nights and on-call weekends.
• Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and prepare detailed reports.
• Coach managers on H&S compliance and best practices.
• Review reports and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Develop and maintain safe work practices and safety documentation.
• Support WSIB claims management and return-to-work initiatives.
• Maintain emergency equipment inventory and assist in training.
• Lead or participate in JHSC meetings and safety training.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of the HSE program.
• Perform other H&S duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Health & Safety, the Health & Safety Advisor, Night provides guidance, coaching, and support to ensure compliance with legislation, standards, and best practices while helping to build a strong safety culture. The Health and Safety Advisor works closely with management, employees, and external stakeholders to identify hazards, reduce risks, and promote safe work practices across all operations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site inspections and audits at nights and occasional weekends on call
• Investigate safety incidents, identify root causes, and prepare detailed reports
• Advise and coach managers and supervisors on H&S compliance and best practices.
• Review incident and inspection reports and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining safe work practices, job hazard analyses, and safety documentation.
• Support WSIB claims management and return-to-work initiatives.
• Maintain company emergency equipment inventory (first aid kits, extinguishers, etc.).
• Lead or participate in Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) meetings.
• Support the facilitation of ongoing H&S training.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of the HSE program and support accreditations (e.g. ISO 45001and SOSE).
• Perform other H&S duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Ability to work overnight shifts and on-call weekends
• 3-5 years of experience in Occupational Health & Safety, ideally within construction or industrial environments
• Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced, field-based environment, while maintaining a high standard of safety and compliance
• Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety, HSE Management, Safety Engineering, or a related field
• Strong knowledge of OHSA and applicable regulations, with hands-on experience in areas such as WHMIS, fall protection, PPE, equipment safety, emergency response, and site hazard controls
• Experience conducting incident investigations and implementing corrective actions
• Experience managing WSIB claims and return-to-work programs
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and promote a positive safety culture
• Proven ability to coach, train, and support teams across multiple levels of the organization
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in hazard identification and incident review
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
• Committed to staying current on industry trends and applying best practices
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Preferred (Assets)

• Professional certification such as CRSP, NCSO, or equivalent is considered an asset
• Familiarity with ISO 45001 standards and supporting certification or compliance processes is an asset
• Experience leading JHSC meetings and facilitating safety training programs

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• This is a nightshift, field-based role, supporting operations during overnight hours and on-call weekends.
• Based out of Stouffville, with regular travel required to various project sites across Southern Ontario
• Work is primarily conducted outdoors on active construction sites, in varying weather conditions
• Comfortable navigating uneven terrain and active job sites
• Involves a mix of hands-on fieldwork and administrative tasks (reporting, documentation, coordination)
