Job summary

Portfolio Group is seeking a Health & Safety Advisor to support clients across Canada from our Downtown Toronto office. This role provides practical OHS guidance, recommendations, and solutions to strengthen workplace safety programs and regulatory compliance.

The position is Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. EST, in-office with opportunities for weekend work. It offers strong professional development and career advancement prospects. You will work from downtown Toronto, near Union Station.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or related program.
• Minimum 3 years of health and safety education, training, or experience.
• CRST or CRSP designation is considered an asset; candidates pursuing a designation are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate, practical OHS advice and solutions to clients based on applicable legislation, regulations, and best practices.
• Advise clients on health and safety management systems, including COR and ISO 45001.
• Follow up with clients regarding recommendations and ongoing needs.
• Participate in virtual meetings and video calls with clients to provide guidance.
• Promote proactive workplace safety initiatives, including training, inspections, and leadership engagement.
• Maintain records of client communications and follow-up in the CRM system.
• Assist with development, review, and revision of health and safety policies and procedures.
• Support compliance requirements for ISNetworld and Avetta.

About the Role

We are seeking a Health & Safety Advisor to join our team in an office-based position supporting clients across Canada. In this role, you will provide practical health and safety guidance, recommendations, and solutions to help clients maintain compliance and strengthen their workplace safety programs.

This is a Monday to Friday position, with regular hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. EST. Hours may occasionally vary based on business and client needs, and there may be opportunities for weekend work. Flexibility is important as client volume and business requirements can fluctuate.

You will be working in Downtown Toronto, off of Union station.

Monday-Friday full-time in office.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide accurate, practical, and professional Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) advice and solutions to clients based on applicable legislation, regulations, and industry best practices.
• Advise clients on recognized health and safety management systems, including COR and ISO 45001.
• Proactively follow up with clients regarding previously provided recommendations, solutions, and ongoing health and safety needs.
• COR experience
• Participate in virtual meetings and video calls with clients to provide guidance and address health and safety concerns.
• Promote proactive workplace safety initiatives, including training programs, workplace inspections, and leadership engagement.
• Research and assess health and safety-related questions and concerns to provide appropriate recommendations.
• Maintain accurate records of client communications, inquiries, recommendations, and follow-up activities within the company’s CRM system.
• Support clients in effectively using health and safety management software, policies, programs, and resources.
• Assist with the development, review, and revision of health and safety policies, procedures, and related documentation.
• Support clients with compliance requirements for third-party contractor and safety platforms such as ISNetworld and Avetta.
• Meet established internal KPIs and performance objectives.

Education & Experience

• Degree or diploma from an accredited Occupational Health & Safety or related program.
• Minimum 3 year of relevant health and safety education, training, or professional experience.
• CRST or CRSP designation is considered an asset; candidates actively pursuing a designation are also encouraged to apply.
