First Onsite Property Restoration in Calgary is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to lead and sustain our safety program. The role focuses on policy development, risk assessment, training, incidents investigation, and emergency planning to keep the workplace compliant and safe.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in health and safety, strong communication, and a relevant degree. This 12-month contract requires up to 75% travel and a proactive approach to continuous safety improvement.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of progressive health and safety experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • University degree or college diploma in Health and Safety, Business or related field is an asset.
  • Valid driver's license and driving record requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct risk assessments and create risk management plans.
  • Provide guidance and training to employees on health and safety issues.
  • Ensure workplace compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Investigate accidents/incidents and recommend corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement emergency response plans.
  • Review and update the health and safety program for continuous improvement.

Job description

We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Health and Safety Advisor to join our organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive support to our organization's health and safety program, ensuring that our workplace is safe and compliant with all relevant regulations. This position is for a 12 month contract and includes 75% Travel.

As the Health and Safety Advisor, your day-to-day responsibilities will include developing and implementing our organization's health and safety policies and procedures, conducting risk assessments and creating risk management plans, providing guidance and training to employees on health and safety issues, ensuring that our workplace meets all relevant health and safety regulations and standards, investigating accidents and incidents and making recommendations for corrective actions, developing and implementing emergency response plans, and reviewing and updating our organization's health and safety program on a regular basis. You will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for all employees, and will be responsible for identifying and mitigating potential hazards and risks. With a strong attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement, you will ensure that our organization remains compliant with all applicable health and safety laws and regulations, and that we are always working to improve the safety and well‑being of our employees.
