The opportunity
Are you passionate about creating and maintaining a culture of safety and well-being? KCB is seeking a Corporate Health & Safety Advisor to drive our strategic health and safety initiatives. In this role, you will report to the QHSE System Manager and champion our commitment to a safe, sustainable and inclusive workplace, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and embedding industry best practices into daily operations.
What you’ll do
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve KCB’s comprehensive Health & Safety program
- Provide expert guidance on regulatory compliance, hazard identification, and risk mitigation strategies
- Lead cross-functional teams through safety audits, incident investigations, and emergency response planning
- Deliver engaging training and workshops to promote safety awareness and best practices across all levels of the organization
- Support travel security risk management, including conducting risk assessments, updating policies, and implementing emergency protocols for employees traveling to remote or high-risk locations
- Participate in external and internal audits to maintain compliance with KCB’s ISO standards
- Manage and maintain the Certificate of Recognition (COR) for British Columbia, ensuring compliance with local regulations
- Partner with leadership to integrate health and safety considerations into project planning and execution
- Participate as a member of the BC Joint Health and Safety Committee
- Monitor, report, and analyze safety metrics to drive measurable improvements in performance and culture
- Maintain monthly, quarterly, and annual health and safety reports and statistics. Ensure that data is accurately tracked and reported in client and company management systems.
- Collaborate as a member of the Global Integrated Management System (IMS) Committee to contribute to the continuous improvement of safety initiatives across the organization
- Provide advice and counsel to management and employee groups on a broad range of occupational safety issues and decisions
What we’re looking for
- 7+ years of experience in a Health & Safety leadership role preferably within engineering, construction, or industrial environments
- Bachelor’s degree, or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, or Professional Certification (e.g., CRSP, CSP)
- Hold a valid provincial Intermediate First Aid certification
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
- Strong knowledge and working ability with MS 365 Office Products including Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerBI, and PowerPoint
- Demonstrated understanding of industry regulations, standards, and best practices (e.g., COR, ISO45001, OSHA)
- Proven track record of developing and implementing strategic safety initiatives that drive organizational change
- Ability to speak Spanish, French, and/or Portuguese is a significant asset

The salary for this position is $90,000 to $105,000 per year. Salary is based on applicable experience, education, and skill level. In addition to salary total rewards includes:
