Job summary

Scarborough Transit Connect (STC) is hiring a Health & Safety Administrator to support the HS team on the Scarborough Subway Extension project in Toronto. The role focuses on data collection, reporting, and compliance with provincial OHS regulations.

Ideal candidates will have 2+ years in HS administration within construction, strong communication, and proficient use of MS Office. Flex hours, competitive salary, and benefits are offered for this full-time position.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a HS administrative role in a construction environment (rail experience is an asset).
  • Post-secondary education in Health & Safety fields.
  • Working knowledge of Provincial OHS legislation including construction regulations.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to work with minimal direction.
  • Effective organizational skills to meet multiple deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
  • Collaborative team approach and ability to build relationships with clients and project teams.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.

Responsibilities

  • Operational support and resource for the HS team.
  • Collect, analyze HS data to support performance metrics and reporting for internal reviews and client submissions.
  • Monitor completion of all project Accident/Incident reports and ensure they are submitted, filed, forwarded and tracked as per the HS program.
  • Ensure project safety documentation is uploaded into assigned files and maintained for auditing purposes.
  • Organize, monitor and manage weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly statistical data and reports for corporate roll up and site tracking.
  • Maintain corrective action database by tracking actions arising from SiteDocs inspections and incident investigations.
  • Assist HS personnel in meeting reporting requirements and deadlines.
  • Provide feedback to the Safety Manager on CCVs, site safety inspections, etc. to identify improvement areas.
  • Coordinate and gather information for HS Excellence submissions; ensure timely reporting.
  • Organize quarterly safety summits logistics and overall event support.
  • Maintain HS Dashboard reflecting key performance metrics and trends.
  • Assist in startup for new work areas/projects with required templates and documentation.
  • Assist new advisors and supervisors with reporting and tracking processes.
  • Assist the HS Director in administrative and technical tasks as required.

Job description

Position Title: Health & Safety Administrator

Who We Are:

Scarborough Transit Connect (STC) is a joint venture between Aecon and FCC Canada Ltd. that was selected by Metrolinx to deliver the Scarborough Subway Extension – Stations, Rail and Systems (SSE-SRS) package. The Scarborough Subway Extension will bring the TTC’s Line 2 subway service nearly eight kilometers farther into Scarborough. It will extend from Kennedy Station to Sheppard Avenue and McCowan Road, providing quick and seamless transit for those heading into and out of the downtown core and those travelling within Scarborough. The extension will replace Line 3 (the Scarborough RT), helping to reduce travel times and improve access to jobs, schools, and other key destinations throughout the city.

As part of this project, we are currently looking for aHealth & Safety Administrator to join our team.

W hat You Will Do:

  • Operational support and resource for the HS team.
  • Collect, compile, and analyze HS data to support performance metrics and reporting for internal reviews and client submissions.
  • Monitor completion of all project Accident /Incident reports and ensure they are submitted, filed, forwarded and tracked as per the HS program.
  • Ensure project safety documentation is uploaded into assigned files and maintained in an accessible manner for auditing purposes.
  • Organize, monitor and manage the statistical reporting and compiling processes for submission of weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly statistical data and reports for both corporate roll up and site tracking and trending.
  • Maintain corrective action database by tracking, updating, and monitoring corrective actions arising from SiteDocs inspections, observations, and incident investigations.
  • Assist HS personnel in meeting the requirements and deadlines for reporting.
  • Provide regular feedback to the Safety Manager on the activities, submission status of CCVs, site safety inspections, etc. to identify any areas needing improvement within the projects or work groups.
  • Coordinate and gather information for HS Excellence submissions, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Organize and coordinate all logistics for quarterly safety summits, including scheduling, venue arrangements, meeting materials, attendee communications, and overall event support to ensure successful execution.
  • Maintain the HS Dashboard to reflect key performance metrics and trends.
  • Assist in any start up for new work areas or projects, including providing all of the necessary templates and documentation that will be required for reporting and program maintenance purposes.
  • Assist all new advisors and supervisors in complying with the reporting and tracking processes.
  • Assist the HS Director in administrative and technical compatibilities, as required.

Experience You Will Bring:

  • At least (2) years’ experience working in a HS administrative role in a construction industry (rail experience is considered an asset)
  • Relevant post-secondary education in Health & Safety fields.
  • Working Knowledge of Provincial OHS legislation including construction regulations.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, Powerpoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including experience in preparing reports and presentations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required.
  • Ability to be self-motivated and work effectively with minimal direction.
  • Effective organizational skills to meet multiple deadlines and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Collaborative team approach and ability to build successful working relationships with clients and project teams.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
