Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Health Information Management program.
• CHIMA certification required and in good standing.
• Knowledge of ICD-10/CCI and CIHI standards.
• Familiarity with Med2020 WinRecs or similar software.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently or with others and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patient confidentiality.
• DAD and NACRS coding of diseases and interventions using ICD-10 and CCI.
• Abstraction of diagnosis and symptoms per CIHI guidelines.
• Assemble inpatient, emergency and day surgery charts.
• Qualitative and quantitative analysis of inpatient charts.
• Assist with routine office duties (phone, front desk).
• Support efficient functioning of the Health Records Department.
