Job summary

GardaWorld in Winnipeg, Manitoba, is seeking a Health Care Security Guard (Qualified Person) to patrol and secure healthcare environments. This role emphasizes risk anticipation, observation, and rapid response across shift patterns.

You will lead a team of guards, verify identities, monitor alarms and cameras, and coordinate with law enforcement during incidents. Weekend Saturday/Sunday shifts 07:30–15:30 with uniform provided.

Qualifications

• Be authorized to work in Canada.
• Hold a valid Manitoba security license.
• First aid certification an asset, or willingness to obtain it.
• Use of Force is an asset, or willingness to obtain it.
• Ability to stand and walk entire shift.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Previous security industry experience is an asset.
• Customer service oriented.
• Leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a stressful environment.

Responsibilities

• Patrol sensitive areas to spot any suspicious activity.
• Lead a team of trained security guards.
• Verify identities and control access to secure areas.
• React quickly to threats or incidents.
• Respond to code events.
• Check the proper functioning of alarms and cameras.
• Document incidents and actions taken.
• Respond to alarms and conduct on-site checks.
• Collaborate with law enforcement during serious incidents.

As a Health Care Security Guard, physical ability is essential as you will be moving around your entire shift, patrolling environments such as retail stores, airports, security facility centres, etc.
