Job Overview

The PSW works under the supervision of the Care Coordinator, performing personal care services tailored to meet client needs. Responsibilities include:

1. Assistance with personal care and hygiene
2. Meal preparation
3. Light housekeeping
4. Accompanying clients on outings
5. Shopping and errands
6. Medication assistance/reminders
7. Ambulation and transportation of clients
8. Providing companionship
9. Following care plans
10. Documentation and charting

Qualifications

• Personal Support Worker Certificate or equivalent (including foreign-trained nurses or nursing students)
• Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
• Negative TB skin test or chest x-ray
• Ability to travel within the service area
• Access to internet and mobile phone
