Job summary

CBI Home Health in Edmonton is seeking Health Care Aides to support clients in their homes and local lodges. You will provide personal care, assist with mobility and light exercises, and report any changes to your supervisor.

A reliable vehicle and valid driver's license are required for travel between client sites. We offer weekend premiums, travel pay, flexible scheduling (FT/PT/casual), and a comprehensive benefits package including RRSP and extended medical and dental coverage; paid

Qualifications

• Active Practice Permit in good standing with CLHA.
• Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (last 6 months).
• Proof of a negative TB test.
• Reliable vehicle and valid driver's license.
• Commitment to work every other weekend.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
• Reliability and strong organization skills.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs (16 kg).

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care to clients in their homes and lodges.

• Observe, document, and report changes to the Manager/Supervisor.
• Perform light housekeeping tasks as indicated in care plans.

What You Will Do

As a caring, responsible health care team member, you will support clients to be as safe and independent in our congregate settings, as possible, helping them to live their best lives. You will provide personal care to clients in their home in the lodges, and may assist them to mobilize and perform light exercises. You will act at all times with the client and their family at the heart of all you do, observing, documenting, and reporting any changes in their condition to your Manager/Supervisor. You may be required to perform light housekeeping tasks as indicated in client care plans.

What You Will Need To Be Successful

• An Active Practice Permit in good standing with the CLHA
• A clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening within the last 6 months
• Proof of a negative TB test
• Reliable vehicle and valid drivers license
• Commitment to work every other weekend
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills, with ability to communicate in other languages an asset
• Reliability and strong organization skills
• Ability to safely lift up to 35 lbs. (16 kg)
