Requirements:
- Some secondary school education and some on-the-job training experience or completion of a related program in a college or authorized institution is required.
- Completion of specialized courses in CPR or first aid is an asset.
- Up-to-date Criminal Check with Vulnerable Sector is required.
- Current CPR/First Aid training or willingness to obtain.
- Negative TB skin test or chest x-ray is required.
Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance and reminders for medication administration, as well as measure and record patients’ vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Assist patients with personal care and hygiene, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and documenting fluid intake and output.
- Prepare and serve meals, offer guidance on menu selection, and assist with feeding if needed.
- Handle the weighing, lifting, turning, and positioning of patients, while overseeing their exercise routines.
- Adhere to care plans, document observations, and maintain accurate records.
- Accompany clients on outings, organize recreational activities, and ensure their comfort and well-being during outdoor recreation.
- Respond promptly to call signals and administer first aid during emergencies within your competence.
- Transport patients safely using wheelchairs or stretchers for treatments or procedures.
- Make beds, maintain cleanliness, and organize patients’ rooms.
- Facilitate transportation of patients between medical facilities.
- Perform shopping and related errands as required.
