Job summary

Extendicare is seeking a part-time PSW/HCA/CCA to provide direct personal support and care for residents in our Canadian facilities. The role involves assisting with ambulation, feeding, bathing, grooming, and upholding care plans and documentation.

Qualifications include a PSW program or HCA/CCA certification, plus experience in long-term care or community home care. Strong English reading/writing skills and independence in community care are valued assets.

Qualifications

• Completed a PSW Program or HCA/CCA certification that meets the appropriate standards as required for the position.
• Experience in Long Term Care or community home care setting with exposure to dementia and palliative care is preferred.
• Knowledge of care planning systems and documentation.
• Ability to communicate positively with other staff, residents/patients and families.
• Ability to read and write English and understand verbal and written instructions in English.
• Experience working independently in Community Home Care is an asset.
