Job summary

Chartwell Retirement Residences is seeking a Guest Attendant to provide personal care, support, and companionship to residents, helping them live comfortably, safely, and with dignity.

You will assist with daily routines, meals, and mobility, while maintaining hygiene and following care plans. A patient, empathetic approach is essential in this role within our welcoming communities.

Qualifications

  • Experience in personal care, laundry, or food service.
  • Secondary school education; care field training preferred.
  • Ability to read, follow, and communicate instructions effectively.
  • Demonstrated empathy, patience, and understanding of seniors’ needs.
  • Maintain high hygiene standards and work safely with equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with personal care, mobility, and daily routines.
  • Support laundry, light housekeeping, and meal service.
  • Administer medications and follow care plans.
  • Keep resident areas clean and safe and follow health and safety protocols.
  • Respond to resident and family concerns and report to Health and Wellness Manager when needed.

As a Guest Attendant at Chartwell, you’ll provide personal care, assistance, and support to our residents, helping them live comfortably, safely, and with dignity. What You’ll Do
  • Help residents with personal care, mobility, and daily routines like dressing and meals
  • Provide support with laundry, light housekeeping, and meal service
  • Administer medications and follow individual care plans
  • Keep resident areas clean and safe, and follow all health and safety protocols
  • Respond to resident and family concerns and report to the Health and Wellness Manager when needed
What You’ll Bring
  • Experience in personal care, laundry, food service, or support services
  • Secondary school education; post-secondary training in a care field preferred
  • Ability to read, follow, and communicate instructions effectively
  • Demonstrated empathy, patience, and understanding of seniors’ needs
  • Maintain high hygiene standards, work safely with equipment, and manage time well

Additional Requirements
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed
  • Good physical and mental health to meet the demands of the role
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods, bend, lift, carry, push, and pull heavy items
  • Preparedness to respond to emergency situations
  • Willingness to wear personal protective equipment as required
  • Clear Criminal Background Check, VSS and TB Test where required
