Job summary

The 401 Group is seeking a Health & Safety Coordinator to support a culture of workplace safety, compliance, and employee well-being across our organization. Based in Cambridge with travel to Ontario locations, you will manage JHSCs, training, logs, and OH&S policy updates.

Ideal candidates have post-secondary OH&S education (asset), a valid G license, strong organizational and communication skills, and a willingness to travel. CPR/First Aid and WSIB experience are assets.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety is an asset.
  • JHSC certification is considered an asset.
  • Valid Class G Driver’s Licence with an acceptable driving record.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to various company locations.
  • CPR/First Aid certification is considered an asset.
  • Previous WSIB experience is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to various company dealerships and locations to support and maintain health and safety standards.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Joint Health & Safety Committees (JHSC) across all applicable locations.
  • Coordinate JHSC and First Aid training and ensure required certifications are maintained.
  • Maintain monthly facility, first aid, and fire extinguisher inspection logs for all locations.
  • Act as a key point of contact regarding health and safety and WSIB-related matters.
  • Respond to workplace emergencies and facilitate incident and accident investigations, including the completion and submission of required documentation.
  • Ensure Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) boards are maintained and kept up to date at all locations.
  • Prepare and maintain quarterly JHSC meeting minutes and documentation.
  • Create, organize, and maintain health and safety documentation binders and records.
  • Order first aid supplies and maintain appropriate inventory levels across all locations.
  • Review and update health and safety policies and procedures annually, or as required by legislation or organizational needs.
  • Maintain fire safety systems, documentation, and emergency plans.
  • Coordinate and maintain equipment maintenance schedules and related documentation.
  • Perform other health and safety-related duties and responsibilities as assigned or required.

The 401 Group of Companies is seeking a dedicated Health & Safety Coordinator to support a strong culture of workplace safety, compliance, and employee well-being across our organization.

Location: Cambridge with travel required to various locations across Ontario.

Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

Salary: $50,000-$60,000 per year

Role & Responsibilities:

Qualifications & Skills:
  • Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety, such as a university degree, college diploma, or relevant certification is an asset
  • JHSC certification is considered an asset.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
