$76,900.00/daily - $134,600.00/daily

At Jacobs, health, safety, and environmental (HSE) compliance is crucial to the success of our projects and our relationships with clients. As an experienced Health and Safety Professional, you’ll collaborate with the client’s health and safety team and the Jacobs Project Team to monitor projects, ensure regulatory compliance, provide HSE leadership, and foster a positive safety culture. You’ll develop collaborative approaches to implementing and complying with the Project HSE Management Plan.

Based in Vancouver, British Columbia at the Project Site, you’ll represent Jacobs as a HSE Lead in an EPCM contractor role, overseeing health and safety management systems of project contractors to ensure compliance with project requirements, legislation, and contracts. You’ll develop your career while delivering solutions for a more sustainable world.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Assist the Owner and contractors/suppliers in developing and implementing HSE programs per the Project’s HSE Management Plan.
• Implement hazard assessments and emergency procedures in line with owner directives and project requirements.
• Act as the Owner’s safety representative, ensuring standards and procedures are followed.
• Ensure HSE orientation for project personnel.
• Conduct spot checks for compliance, incident reporting, and hazard assessments.
• Review contractor safety plans for compliance with the project HSE Management Plan.
• Provide HSE leadership and actively engage project personnel.
• Monitor contractor activities to meet safety standards.
• Coordinate safety meetings and produce HSE reports.
• Evaluate prospective contractor HSE programs during pre-qualification.
• Develop and distribute safety alerts and communications.
• Mentor Jacobs employees on HSE activities.

Minimum Requirements

• Relevant Health & Safety diploma/degree.
• OHS professional designation (CRSP, IH, CSP, CIH, etc.) and/or NCSO designation.
• At least 15 years of relevant experience in health and safety on large industrial/EPCM projects.
• At least 10 years of leadership experience in health and safety on large projects.
• Knowledge of HSE Management Systems and provincial/federal OHS legislation.
• Experience with site inspections, incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Strong organizational skills, data analysis, and reporting experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as an HSE consultant.
• Familiarity with water-related work and critical safety tasks.
• Experience with Joint Health and Safety Committees, First Aid, and CPR.
• Understanding of the EPCM project delivery model.

Salary Range

The base salary range is $76,900 to $134,600, determined by location, skills, experience, and education.
