Job summary

Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) invites applications for a Health Aide (RCA HCA) at Long-Term Care sites. Under RN supervision, you assist residents with daily living activities and help maintain their dignity and comfort.

You will work 7:00–13:00 shifts, part-time regular, with rotating days. Requirements include Grade 10 and completion of a recognized Nursing Assistant/Health Aide program, and registration with the BC Care Aide registry.

Qualifications

• Grade 10 or higher with graduation from a recognized Nursing Assistant Program such as Health Aide.
• Registered with the BC Care Aide registry.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Job Description

Reporting to the Manager and under the supervision and direction of the registered nurse or designate, the Health Aide assists the resident /client in activities of daily living to meet physical, emotional, psychosocial and spiritual needs and maintain optimal functioning while promoting residents' autonomy and choice.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Training And Experience

Grade 10 plus graduation from a recognized Nursing Assistant Program such as a Health Aide program or equivalent. Registered with the BC Care Aide registry.
