Job summary

Vancouver Island Health Authority is seeking a Health Aide (RCA HCA) for long-term care on a casual basis. Responsibilities include assisting residents with daily living activities to promote autonomy and comfort, under supervision of a nurse or designate, in multi-site facilities.

The role requires completion of a recognized Health Aide/Nursing Assistant program, BC Care Aide registry, and strong communication skills to support residents and collaborate with the care team.

Qualifications

Job Description

Reporting to the Manager and under the supervision and direction of the registered nurse or designate, the Health Aide assists the resident /client in activities of daily living to meet physical, emotional, psychosocial and spiritual needs and maintain optimal functioning while promoting residents' autonomy and choice.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Training And Experience

Grade 10 plus graduation from a recognized Nursing Assistant Program such as a Health Aide program or equivalent. Registered with the BC Care Aide registry.
