Job summary

Island Health in Chemainus, BC is seeking a Health Aide (RCA HCA) for a temporary part-time assignment at Chemainus Health Care Centre. Under supervision of a registered nurse, you will assist residents with daily living, promoting autonomy and safety.

Applicants must have Grade 10 and completion of a recognized Nursing Assistant program, and be registered with the BC Care Aide registry. Shifts include 1500-2100, 1500-2300, 2300-0700, with bi-weekly hours around 45.70.

Qualifications

• Grade 10 or higher with graduation from a recognized Nursing Assistant Program (Health Aide) or equivalent.
• Registered with the BC Care Aide registry.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living to meet physical, emotional, psychosocial and spiritual needs.

Job Description

Reporting to the Manager and under the supervision and direction of the registered nurse or designate, the Health Aide assists the resident /client in activities of daily living to meet physical, emotional, psychosocial and spiritual needs and maintain optimal functioning while promoting residents' autonomy and choice.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Training And Experience

Grade 10 plus graduation from a recognized Nursing Assistant Program such as a Health Aide program or equivalent. Registered with the BC Care Aide registry.
